Η Δημοκρατία των Μαλδιβών ή Μαλδίβες Νήσοι είναι νησιωτική χώρα που συναποτελείται από ατόλες στον Ινδικό ωκεανό, νοτιοδυτικά της Ινδίας με έκταση 300 τ. χλμ. και πληθυσμό 382.751 κατοίκους, σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2022. Σήμερα αποτελούν παγκοσμίως υψηλό πόλο τουριστικής έλξης. Πρωτεύουσα και μοναδική πόλη είναι το Μαλέ.
